Jen studied Architecture at the University of Strathclyde during which she worked part time at practices in Glasgow and North East England. Following graduation in 2000, Jen joined the then 4 strong team at Gareth Hoskins Architects as an assistant. Jen’s organisational skills and enthusiasm for the business led to her taking on an ever developing role, dealing with many disparate aspects of the practice to relieve the architects who were sharing tasks related to marketing and submissions, office management and finance while still running projects. After undertaking management and financial training Jen became Office Manager in 2002, and Director of Finance and Development in 2004, joining the Board of Directors in 2008.
In this role Jen is responsible for the practice’s submissions for new work, management of the administration and marketing teams, and the strategic financial management of the practice including the preparation of fee bids and liason with Projects Directors to manage and monitor financial progress of projects.
