Greenock Health and Care Centre Greenock, Inverclyde, UK

Created through a partnership between Inverclyde Council HSCP, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC), Hub West Scotland and the local community, designed by Hoskins Architects, Greenock Health and Care Centre (HCC) is the fifth centre to be based on our ‘reference design’ for Eastwood HCC in 2016. The new 5800 sqm centre brings together a range of health and care services for NHSGGC and Inverclyde HSCP under one roof, on a brownfield site within the Broomhill community of Greenock.

Accommodation is arranged around a courtyard garden and central atrium that climbs with the site topography with waiting areas enjoying access and views to the terraced garden. The 15 meter level change across the site created a smaller ground floor with a welcoming central reception, pharmacy, community café, and physiotherapy and podiatry departments with a range of clinical spaces on the first floor and GP practices on the second floor. Open plan agile workspace and shared staff facilities are located on the third floor, enjoying incredible views over the Clyde with a south facing roof terrace accessed from the staff kitchen and breakout space.
