Museum for Hamburg History Hamburg, Germany

In April 2021, Hoskins Architects together with Wenzel + Wenzel and guba+sgard landscape architects won the bid to redevelop the Museum of Hamburg History (MHG) for Sprinkenhof GmbH, real estate partner of the City of Hamburg.

Planned measures include the comprehensive modernisation and refurbishment of all floors with a focus on the redesign of the permanent exhibition on 1st and 2nd, as well as the reconfiguration of visitor infrastructure, education areas, museum shop and restaurant. As part of the project the technical infrastructure, fire protection and accessibility will be comprehensively improved. The project will provide an architectural framework for a new presentation of the museum’s content, so it may continue in its role as a contemporary and forward-looking institution for many years to come.
